Anderson (South Coast/Ind.): Hit .368 after joining the Joes in early July…played in 42 games as a hitter, while making 10 appearances as a pitcher…hit for himself in eight of his 10 pitching appearances, including all four of his starts…made pro debut on 7/5, collecting first professional hit and going 1-5 vs. Macon…had eight multi-hit games, including two 3-hit games…hit first career homerun on 8/1 vs. South Georgia…went 7 for 8 in stolen base attempts…hit a stunning .442 during the month of August (23-52)…had 5-game hitting streak from 8/24-8/29 going 8-16 (.500)…hit .393 at home…stole two bases in one game vs. Macon on 7/6…made professional debut as a pitcher on 7/21 vs. Charlotte County…earned first win in his first professional start on 8/9 vs. Macon, allowing two runs over six innings pitched and striking out a season-high five batters…went 2-1 in four starts with a 2.77 ERA in 26.0 IP…pitched a season-high 7.0 IP twice (8/20 at Bradenton and 8/28 at Macon)…posted a 2.43 ERA in 29.2 IP in August…1.47 ERA in 18.1 IP at home
Kash Beauchamp on Blake: Blake is a very unique player in that he can both hit and pitch equally well. He is an extremely smart and heady player. He will be called on to both pitch and play left field. He is extremely tough on left-handed hitters, with the ability to change his arm angle. He is also one of the best bunters I have ever coached. Although a rookie, he understands the game like a much older player.
