WICHITA, KS- Wichita Wingnuts' left fielder Greg Porter was named the American Association's Batter of the Month for June.The honor marks the first time that a Wingnuts player has received a Player of the Month award from the league. Porter hit .481 in 27 games in June, going 50 for 104 with six home runs and 21 RBIs. Porter drew 22 walks while striking out a mere seven times. The West Point, TX native scored 23 runs and collected 11 doubles. Twice during the month, Porter earned Player of the Week accolades.The hot stretch by Porter, which includes an active franchise-best 19-game hitting streak, vaulted Porter atop the league batting race.
