WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Wingnuts signed former Emporia State University Hornet Ben Graham on Tuesday.
Graham went 8-3 with a 2.45 ERA for the Hornets this spring during his senior season. The six-foot, four right-hander struck out 57 and walked just 13 in 84.1 IP while making 13 starts. A native of Holden, MO, Graham was named Emporia State's Outstanding Male Student-Athlete for 2009.
Graham led the MIAA in ERA, ranked second in fewest walks allowed, and third in opponent batting average (.238). Graham earned First-Team All-Region honors from Daktronics and Second-Team honors from the ABCA. Graham also played two seasons at Hutchinson Community College.
Graham becomes the sixth former Hornet signed by the Wingnuts, joining Gabe Medina, Michael Sharp, Diego Soto, John Martin, and Matt Petty. To make room for Graham, the Wingnuts released right-hander Brandon Mathes.
