Wingnuts, KGSO announce partnership

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Wingnuts, proud members of the American Association of Professional Baseball, today named Sportsradio 1410 KGSO as their radio home for the 2008 season.

KGSO will carry at least 90 - and as many as 93 - of the 96 Wingnuts games live this season, as well as all 15 days of the National Baseball Congress World Series.  The first broadcast will take place on Wednesday, May 7th when the Wingnuts throw out the first pitch of their inaugural season versus the Sioux City Explorers.

KGSO will carry all 5:00 p.m. games of the NBC World Series, as well as four 7:30 p.m. feature games on August 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 10th.  Some 10:00 p.m. games may also be carried, depending on the match-up.

“We are thrilled to have an outstanding radio station like KGSO representing our organization”, said Wingnuts general manager Josh Robertson.  “KGSO is the top sports station in the area and will do a tremendous job of helping the Wingnuts continue the long standing tradition of baseball in Wichita.”

Throughout the season fans will be able to follow the Wingnuts on the weekly show “The Game Plan” with Chris Allison from 6:00-9:00 a.m.  “The Game Plan” will feature promos of upcoming games, news about the team and live guests every Thursday at 7:30 a.m.

Fans can also listen to all Wingnuts/NBC broadcasts via webcast, thru either www.KGSO.com or www.wichitawingnuts.com.  All games will feature both a pregame and post game show.  Steve Schuster, the voice of the Wichita Thunder, will also handle the play-by-play duties for the Wingnuts.

The American Association (AA) features a 96-game schedule, broken into two halves.  The Wingnuts will play in the North Division, along with Sioux City, the Sioux Falls Canaries, Lincoln Saltdogs and St. Paul Saints.  The winner of each half will meet in a best-of-five first round series, unless the same team wins both halves.  Then, the team with the second best overall record will also advance to the playoffs.  The North and South Division winners will meet in the best-of-five AA Finals.

Tickets for all Wingnuts home games, as well as all NBC World Series games, range from $5.99-$10.99, with discounts for all seniors, children 12 and under and military personnel.  Season tickets are also on sale now, ranging from $30 for a five-game pack to just $475 for a full season package.

For more information or to purchase tickets, please call the Wichita Pro Sports office at 264-GOAL or visit our website at www.wichitawingnuts.com.  Wichita Pro Sports other entity, the Wichita Thunder, returns to action on Friday at the Arizona Sundogs for the fourth game of their season-long six-game road trip.  The Thunder returns home next Friday to host the Amarillo Gorillas.
