Wingnuts logo already getting noticed

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Wingnuts haven’t even played a game yet, but they are already getting noticed, being selected by CNBC.com as one of the 64 best minor league baseball logos in North America.

Starting this week, the website www.cnbc.com is holding a contest to find out which minor league baseball team’s logo is actually the best.  The contest, which will run through March 31, features 64 teams in a single-elimination bracket decided by online voting.  The Wichita Wingnuts enter the tournament as a number 12 seed, but just being selected is an impressive feat, considering there are 252 minor league baseball teams.  Fans can place their votes here: http://www.cnbc.com/id/15837629/.

Wichita’s newest baseball franchise will begin their first season of play on May 7th, when they host the Sioux City Explorers for a three-game set at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.  The Wichita Thunder, meanwhile, returns to action on Friday when they host the Oklahoma City Blazers at 7:05 p.m.  For more information on baseball or hockey, please call our office at 264-GOAL or visit our websites www.wichitathunder.com and www.wichitawingnuts.com.
