WICHITA, KS- The Wingnuts suffered their first ever shutout, 6-0 to the Sioux City Explorers on Saturday at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.
The Explorers scored one in the first and added four in the second, thanks to a three-run double by Juan Camacho. The Wingnuts were unable to get the clutch hit, stranding seven runners in the first five innings.
Nick Singleton pitched eight scoreless innings, allowing just five hits for Sioux City. The two teams will meet again on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. Gustavo Mata will get the start for Wichita. For tickets call the Wingnuts at (316) 264-4625.
