WICHITA, KS- The Wingnuts inched closer to first place in the North Division, blasting the Lincoln Saltdogs 10-3 on Wednesday Night at Lawrence Dumont Stadium in front of a crowd of 3,351 fans.
The Wingnuts put three runs on the board in the second inning and added five runs in the third to blow the game open. Chris Colton knocked in three and finished a home run shy of the cycle, Kevin Hooper went 3-4 and Heath Keel continued his assualt going 2-3 with three runs, including a home run.
Justin Young pitched six innings to move his record to 3-0. The Wingnuts, now 18-14, pulled to within 2 1/2 games of the St. Paul Saints. Wichita and Lincoln will finish their series Thursday at 7:05 p.m., before the Saints come in for a three-game series this weekend. For tickets call the Wingnuts office at (316) 264-4625.
