WICHITA, KS- The Wingnuts and the St. Paul Saints split a doubleheader on Wednesday night at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.
Gustavo Mata pitched a complete game shutout for Wichita's 7-0 game one win, while Brenan Herrera and Kevin Hooper each went 3-4 with 2 RBI.
In game two, the Saints hung on for a 4-2 victory. Pichi Balet hit a solo home run for the Saints, who jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the sixth. The Wingnuts cut the lead in half on Vic Davilla's two out home run in the bottom of the inning and then loaded the bases before Stephen Pearson grounded out to end the threat.
