WICHITA, KS - The Wichita Wingnuts fell to the Lincoln Saltdogs 16-6 on Monday night at Haymarket Park, falling to 5.5 games out of first place.
Wichita jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the second, highlighted by an RBI single from Chris Colton and a two-run double from Kevin Hooper. Lincoln rallied though for nine runs in the bottom of the inning. Dustin Yount capped off the rally with a two-out three-run double.
Newcomer Larry Robles gave the Wingnuts a chance to come back, tossing five innings in long relief allowing just one run, but Lincoln tacked on six in the bottom of the eighth to open a 10-run lead.
The series continues tomorrow night with the Wingnuts' Leonard Landeros going up against Lincoln's Jarrett Gardner. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
