WICHITA, KS - The Wingnuts snapped their four-game losing streak with an 8-5 win over the St. Paul Saints at Midway Stadium.
The Wingnuts rallied for four runs in the top of the 11th inning against Saints' pitcher Josh Regits. Kevin Hooper broke a 4-4 tie with a hit and run single to right field. After Wichita scored their second run of the inning on a wild pitch, Dustan Mohr broke the game open with a two-run double to right-center field.
Byron Embry, who kept the game tied in the bottom of the 10th, also finished the home 11th to earn the win. Amad Stephens pitched 2.1 scoreless innings to keep the Wingnuts chances alive. Larry Robles was solid in his second start of the year, yielding four runs in 6.2 IP.
Hooper finished the night 4-5, and tied a season-high with three stolen bases. Mohr also had an RBI double in the top of the 5th inning.
The series continues tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. Wichita sends left hander Leonard Landeros to the mound.
