Wichita, KS- Greg Porter went 4-5 with a homerun and three RBI, leading the Wingnuts to an 11-4 victory over Lincoln on Sunday at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.
Trailing 1-0 in the third, Wichita exploded for five runs, thanks in part to a pair of Lincoln errors. Kelly Hunt had the big hit in the inning with a two-run double. Wichita picked up two more in the fourth and three in the fifth. Every Wichita player reached base and all but one Wichita starter scored a run. Nick Blasi and Joe Muich each recorded two hits. The
Wingnuts were aided by four Lincoln errors and despite the 11 runs, also left a total of 13 men on base.
Richard Salazar picked up the win in relief, while Doug Hurn pitched the final three innings to record a save. Wichita returns to action on Tuesday when they will host the Sious Falls Canaries at 7:05 p.m. For tickets call the Wingnuts office at (316) 264-4625.
