WICHITA, KS- Wingnuts starting pitcher Nick Singleton was named the American Association's Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Singleton won both of his starts last week, combining for 11.2 shutout innings in victories over Sioux Falls and St. Paul. Singleton struck out five and walked three while scattering 11 hits during his two starts. It is the first weekly award given to a Wingnuts player in 2010. Singleton was named the league's Right-Handed Pitcher of the Year in 2008 when he led the American Association with a 2.24 ERA for Sioux City.
